Blues head coach Pep Clotet believes his side can cause an upset under the lights tomorrow evening at Leicester.
His side go into this one full of confidence thanks for their 13 game unbeaten run.
Here’s what he had to say to the press this afternoon:
I am looking forward to Weds, it is a very good test, we love the cup, we know it is 90 minutes or more to decide the winner. We are playing against a stronger opposition who are third in the Premier League, they will be in the Champions League next year.
Brendan has done a fantastic job there, they are a well organised side, they are a handful. They can dominate you, it can put a lot of stress on any team, especially if that team is one division below, but we trust ourselves.
There’s certainly belief in the camp…
We are going into Wednesday with the belief that we can win it, I always think like that, we are on a good run at the moment. Leicester have the talent, but if the game turns in our favour, we can cause them problems.
5,200 Bluenoses will be in full voice at the King Power…
We need a lot of support from our fans, football is football and this is just another game. We need to focus on the job we need to do and put our all into it.
There is no pressure on our players from the outside, there is only the pressure they put on themselves as a team, it is 11v11. I am backing our players to go out there and do themselves proud.
I am expecting them to have a lot of the ball, more possession. They will attack out wide and filter a lot of balls inside, they have the ability to hurt us, we need to limit certain scenarios and make sure we try to avoid situations like 1v1s.
I hope that it is going to be a good footballing game, they will be clinical, we need to make sure we take our chances when we get them and make them count.”
Tomorrow is totally about our fans, they were immense at Millwall & even better at QPR. We felt their support a lot. We managed to do enough in both games to take three points. Tomorrow we have over 5,000 at Leicester and we need to be all in it together.
I have taken into account the load of the previous games, the last thing I want is to overload our squad. I am going to select a team according to the game that we are expecting, it is going to be a team that will go out there and fight for a result.
