Manchester United have apparently been handed a boost in the pursuit of Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to mufclatest.com. It was claimed last week that the 16 year – old was going to join Broussia Dortmund as he would get more first team opportunities than at United. However, German news source, Blid suggests the move is in jeopardy.

Dortmund are seemingly struggling to meet Birmingham City’s demands, which does not sound all that good. The Bundesliga club reportedly have an agreement with the midfielder, but the coronavirus pandemic has limited the amount of money they can spend this summer. Perhaps the German club will need to sell a player to fund this move?

It has long been alleged that Birmingham would allow Bellingham to leave the club if a fee of £31.3 million was received and this figure could be too much for Dortmund this summer with them being reluctant to hand that much over, seemingly only prepared to spend £18 million, which will not quite seal the deal.

This could see United through the door to steal a deal for the teenager, who has been linked to both clubs for a number of months now. Bellingham and his parents visited United Aon training complex in Carrington earlier this year, meeting Sir Alex Ferguson, which would have been a good thing for the teenager.

Bellingham’s father would like the teenager to move to Germany as it would be better for his footballing education, so this could still leave United out in the cold but rubbing their hands together as Dortmund will need more money to seal the deal.
