Blues are being linked with a move for 19-year-old Wolves midfielder Owen Otasowie, according to football website the72.co.uk.
The USA youth international is a holding midfielder and is contracted to Wolves until 2022, meaning any deal is likely to be a season long loan.
Otasowie made his senior debut for Wolves as a sub in their UEFA Europe League match against Besiktas in December 2019 and according to reports in the Telegraph, he is also on the radar of Luton, Peterborough and tenants Coventry City as he looks to gain first team experience.
He is the second midfielder linked to Blues since the opening of the transfer window, following rumours in Croatia that a deal for 22-year-old Zagreb midfielder Lovro Majer could also be in the cards.
It could point to the start of a busy few weeks with the club reported to be closing in on naming Aitor Karanka as the new boss.
