It seems Karanka is focusing on bringing Championship experience into his squad as Danny Fox, a player he managed at Forest, is linked with a move to St Andrews.
The 34-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Wigan this term.
Many Blues fans will feel this is an underwhelming link, however, with Lee Camp departing, there are no older head’s with experience in the dressing room.
Fox started his career at Everton, before rising through the ranks of Walsall and Coventry, before getting his move to Southampton.
He then joined Nottingham Forest after a successful loan back in 2014, racking up 115 appearances for the East Midlands club.
This news comes after Daniel Ayala has been linked with a move to Swansea. The free transfer has also worked under Karanka, however wages could be the stumbling block.
Blues are desperate for reinforcements at the back, with many of the St Andrew’s faithful feeling they need at least 2 new center-backs.
