Yet another home defeat Blues and the squad looks like their crying out for new players.
We decide the best player out of a poor bunch.
GK Neil Etheridge 6
Etheridge didn’t have that much to do despite what the stats may tell you. The vast majority of Blackburn’s didn’t challenge Etheridge but he probably should have done better with Armstrong’s goal.
LB George Friend 6.5
Friend certainly put a shift in. He never gave up when trying to capture the ball down the left flank. He could be criticized as both the goals stemmed from the left side.
CB Jake Clarke-Salter 5.5
The Blues defender did the best he good against a very impressive Blackburn attack. He should have definitely done better at a late corner where he had a practically open header.
CB Mikel San Jose 5.5
After being the main man responsible for the first goal, the Spanish Midfielder turned round his performance and began to get a foothold over it. He calmly brought the ball out of dangerous positions multiple times.
RB Josh Dacres-Cogley 6
The young right back had a fairly solid game. He had the difficult match up of Ben Brereton to deal with, but he handled him well. He was unlucky to be substituted but Aitor clearly wanted a bit more of an attacking drive from defence.
CDM Maikel Kieftenbeld 6
Kief didn’t have the same impact we have came to expect from him this season. He wasn’t as prominent in the midfield battle and mainly was just used to break up attacks from Blackburn, mainly by taking chunks out of them.
CDM Ivan Sunjic 6.5
Sunjic looked a better player with the new hairstyle. He was more dominant when breaking up play and gave away far less fouls than usual.
CAM Riley McGree 5
The Aussie midfielder struggled to create much of an impact out there today and therefore has left with a low rating. He was rightfully substituted and Toral looked a far better option.
RW Ivan Sanchez 6.5 (MOTM)
Sanchez is the only player that has remained fairly consistent in the last few weeks and again looked like the bright spark for Blues. He was winning the ball back all over the pitch and tried to create issues for Blackburn.
LW Jon Leko 6
Leko gave his all today and was constantly trying to create something but it never really paid off for him. He certainly gave it a shot though.
ST Lukas Jutkiewicz 5.5 (C)
Juke struggled up front for another game this season. He was being defeated regularly in the air and although he was offside, he missed a practically open goal early on .
Oppositon MOTM= Adam Armstrong
