After such a successful end to the 20/21 campaign for Bowyer and his men, means bluenoses can now look forward to a fresh start next season. However, before the new season begins, there are a few key areas that Blues fans are eagerly awaiting news on, and it looks like some new information has been provided, regarding the highly rated Alen Halilovic.
The Croatian midfielder has settled in well under the new boss, playing either in behind the strikers, or out on the right-hand side. He’s well known for his ability on the ball, and his beautiful crosses which perfectly set up the big man up top. Well, Blues fans will be glad to hear that it looks he has extended his contract, after family friend Miroslav Bacanic told Croatia’s Supersports Podcast that Blues have extended the 24-year olds contract beyond the summer (below).

I think Blues fans will agree when I say we are really starting to build a squad with some real talented individuals, and if these players pick up injuries, we have backups to slot into their place. Keeping Halilovic next season also adds healthy competition within the squad. Bela, Sanchez, and Halilovic will all be fighting for their place on the wings, when Bowyer selects the trusty 4-4-2 formation and McGree will be wanting to earn his place over Halilovic in the attacking midfield role if Bowyer chooses his preferred 3-5-2 setup.
How are you feeling Blues fans, do you think keeping Halilovic is right for the current Blues side? Let us know on Twitter @bluesfocus!
