Watford striker and boyhood bluenose Troy Deeney could leave this summer with one year left on his contract, leaving his future uncertain.

Troy Deeney and Watford both today announced on social media they are currently discussing their options. Deeney is not doubt a legend for The Hornets, his most notable memory scoring a famous goal against Leicester in the championship to promote them to the Premier League.

It was no secret Deeney had been considering parting ways with the club given the limited game time he has been given at Watford. Being an ageing player and a big supporter of the blues, many fans have now been calling for the striker to return to Birmingham which is very clear in the comments on social media.

But could this dream transfer for many be possible? The main restriction of this deal coming to life is the matter of his wages, some reports suggesting the 33 year old was on as much as £65’000 per week, obviously far outside of the budget of the Blues. However, a loan move could be a more feasible option, helping blues pay his wage while also bringing joy to the fans who have called for this transfer for years.

Nothing is confirmed as of yet. But the one thing that is certain is that this is going to be an interesting few days for Blues fans. Would you like to see Deeney make his blues debut this season?
