Neil Etheridge (7) – A lot of attacks came down his end of the pitch and he responded admirably. A first half stop from Ryan Hardie and another terrific one in the 76th minute from Jordan Garrick. Distribution was slack but could do nothing about the goal.

Kristian Pedersen (4) – The fullback got tormented and could do nothing about the amount of headway Plymouth’s frontmen were getting in the wide areas.

Maxime Colin (4) – Backed off to allow Ryan Law to score the winning goal. As one of the experienced men, he wasn’t able to gain control of his side of the pitch.

George Friend (5) – Could not link the defence to the attack and his dismissal came at a time when the game was already against Blues.

Teden Mengi (6) – A shining light to begin with but it became chaotic when his centre half partner George Friend was dismissed. Could not cope thereafter.

Gary Gardner (4) – Lots of running, but little quality. A player in his position needed to create the chances and keep the game on his side but he could do neither.

Ryan Woods (5) – When he had the ball, there was little movement ahead of him. Additions are needed to support him.

Jordan James (6) - One of few who looked to get the midfield forward and inject some energy but it was for little reward. Those around him in the centre were not able to step up.

Scott Hogan (5) – With the lack of quality behind him, Hogan was barely in the game and became even more isolated after Blues went down to ten men. Barely a half chance in the game.

Troy Deeney (5) – Isolated and became even more peripheral as the game wore on and as Plymouth began to lay siege at the home defence.

Tate Campbell (5) – Nothing really went for the debutant. Fared okay when he moved to the defensive midfield role but wasn’t able to stamp his authority.

Jobe Bellingham (6) (for Jordan James) – Looked really bright. Shades of his brother in his play, willing to get forward even amongst the challenging circumstances he got put in. Played Chuks Aneke through for a great chance.

Chuks Aneke (for Scott Hogan) (5) – Played through by Jobe Bellingham for a chance but that was his only real shout.

Alfie Chang (for Gary Gardner)- N/A

Ivan Sunjic (for Ryan Woods) (5) – Could not stop the visitors’ domination which eventually led to their winning goal.

Josh Williams (for Maxime Colin) – N/A
