It was reported last month that Blues were a part of a bidding war for Swansea left-back Jake Bidwell.
Now, according to Birmingham Live, Blues are understood to be the frontrunners in signing the 28-year-old.
The former Brentford and QPR defender is out of contract in the summer, a similar situation to Kristian Pedersen who is also attracting interest from several clubs.
Whether Blues offer the Dane another contract remains to be seen, however, with the departure of Juan Castillo, who has been recalled to his parent club Chelsea, back up in this position is desperately in need.
Bidwell has been without regular game time. Not starting since November 24th and being an unused sub in the last four games, there may be growing frustration and he may be able to push a move to St Andrews.
