Several Premier League clubs are monitoring young Blues defender Nico Gordon, according to journalist Nathan Gissing.

Chelsea will battle it out with Man United, Spurs and Arsenal to secure the 19-year-old’s signature.

Gordon, who was pretty much forced into the first eleven due to injuries, has impressed since coming back into Lee Bowyer’s side and has firmly cemented his place.

At such a young age he is still learning, however, it is clear to see he has a very mature head on his shoulders coming up against the best forwards in the Championship.

Despite his subdued performance against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Gordon has the makings to become a future star and it’s no surprise to see the big fish’s circle.

The Blues defender’s contract expires in the Summer of next year but it is likely offers will be made this summer for the starlet.

Keeping hold of Gordon could result in losing him for free in the future if an extension cannot be agreed upon.

However, it all depends on how well Blues recruit in the summer with many fans calling for a complete overhaul at the back.

Gordon is expected to start his 8th league game this season on Friday against Coventry.
