An eventful afternoon where officiating took centre stage, not for the first time.

Four goals shared with former manager Gary Rowett and his Millwall side left many pleased with Blues’ display, with Bacuna the hottest of the lot.

Ratings from Saturday:

Neil Etheridge (8) – An extremely commanding performance. Back in the side and produced some key saves whilst being assertive when Millwall had set pieces.

Nico Gordon (7) – Back to being composed. Marshalled Benik Afobe for the most part. Had eyes on Tom Bradshaw and also and kept him largely within reach.

Maxime Colin (7) – More importantly defensively than in an offensive sense. His concentration levels were key, making vital tackles and interceptions.

George Friend (7) – Outstanding in his aerial duels winning pretty much everything. His first start in quite a while and a pretty assured return.

Marc Roberts (7) – Covered well for his teammates and like Gordon looked settled and comfortable. Could have got a second yellow in the second half but otherwise, no complaints.

Ivan Sunjic (5) – Looked shaky and susceptible in midfield, conceding too many fouls whilst surrendering possession to the detriment of those around him.

Gary Gardner (7) – Impetus and drive was effective from the captain. Strong in his battles and proved to be useful with the ball.

Jeremie Bela (5) – Quiet in attack and didn’t have much leverage to influence the game. Took up defensive duties out of possession and did fine.

Onel Hernandez (8) – Played in his natural position and you could just see the difference. On the go from the first minute, scaring the visiting defence and getting Blues into attacking positions constantly. An eventful performance.

Juninho Bacuna (9) – A creative, fluid and energy driven display. One of very few who stand out in this side. Could have added more to his solitary goal as well.

Lyle Taylor (7) – Buried the penalty with ease and proved to be a focal point for the hosts. Didn’t have a great deal in terms of chances but was involved in build up enough.

Jordan Graham (for Jeremie Bela) – N/A
