Blues are preparing to sack manager Lee Bowyer at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.
The site has received word from a reliable source that Birmingham chiefs are already looking for his replacement as Blues go into their final game of the 2021/22 campaign.
They also reveal Bowyer has a ‘tense relationship’ with Technical Director Craig Gardner which is a major catalyst for his dismissal.
Without the point deductions imposed on Reading and Derby this season, Blues would be in yet another final day relegation scrap and they would only be out of the bottom three as it stands on goal difference above Reading.
Bowyer has won 17 of his 58 games in charge of Birmingham and has a point-per-game average of just 1.16.
Moving Bowyer on won’t be cheap as a report in The Sun revealed he’d have his final year of his contract payed off with a sum of £750,000.
There have been rumours floating around about Forest Green Rovers manager Rob Edwards being one of the favourites to takeover the reigns. We posed the question and it was interesting to find 60% of who voted went with ‘stick with Bowyer’.
It seems the writing is on the wall for the ex-Charlton boss and Blues could be looking for his replacement sooner rather than later.
