Following rumours of Blues assistant head coach Mark Kennedy looking to join Lincoln City as manager, Blues have confirmed his departure this afternoon.

***UPDATE*** Lincoln City have announced Kennedy’s arrival as head coach:

It seems Bowyer will still be manager at St Andrews next season as Alan Nixon has exclusively revealed Bowyer has been told to carry on as normal following his talks with the Birmingham City board on Monday.

Also, via the official club website, it states:

“The Club will now work with Lee Bowyer to fulfil the position of Assistant Head Coach in time for pre-season of the upcoming campaign.”

Bowyer still has one year left on his contract and it would cost the current board £750,000 to pay him out of it, according to The Sun.

Lee has been very transparent about his situation at Blues and made it known false promises were made in terms of investment.

News circulated yesterday that former QPR boss Mark Warbuton is tipped to take the reigns and he’d be bringing his ‘trusted aide’ Frank McParland with him to St Andrews.

The lookout for a new assistant ensues but this news begs the question if the current board are waiting for a takeover to happen so they don’t have to pay Bowyer any compensation.
