Blues are eyeing a move for Serie A forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, also known as Simy, as Birmingham boss John Eustace looks to bolster his attacking line.

The 6ft 6″ target man has scored 66 goals in all competitions over his playing career and he is Crotone’s all-time top scorer.
Simy is the only African footballer, apart from Samuel Eto’o to have scored 20 goals in one Serie A season, as he did so in 2020/21.
However, the 30-year-old is looking for regular first team action as he comes to the end of his career.
Simy moved to newly-promoted Serie A club Salernitana on a season-long loan in August 2021.
Since then, he signed for Serie A side Salernitana for a fee of €3.50m back in January of this year.
However, in the same month, the forward was loaned out to Serie B club Parma for the remainder of the season with an option to buy.
He also has international experience after being called up to the Nigeria national team’s camp by coach Gernot Rohr in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Three days later, he made his international debut in a 1–1 draw against the DR Congo.
In June he was named in Nigeria’s final 23-man squad for the World Cup, making his first appearance at the tournament against Croatia. He also played as a substitute in the 1–2 defeat against Argentina who knocked Nigeria out from the tournament.
At 6ft 6″, Simy would prove to be a valuable asset in such a physical league. Also, with Lukas Jutkiewicz’s playing days coming to a halt, Simy would be a good replacement and one that would be up for proving his worth in English football.
If Blues could acquire his services for a nominal fee and along with his international experience, I think he’d suit Blues well as looking for a pacey striker in the current climate is near impossible.
The ‘big-man little-man’ combination of Hogan and Juke worked wonders a few years ago and what’s not to say this could be round two in that aspect?
