Following yesterday’s defeat to Leicester in the FA Cup, a lot of transfer news has come to light today as Blues have been linked with two players in the form of Wigan’s Sam Tickle and Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

According to reporter Alan Nixon, Blues have added both to their transfer list with the latter expected to be a loan deal.

However, Blues will have to fend off a lot of interested with Ipswich and Sunderland keen to add Crystal Palace’s fleet-footed winger to their squad for the remainder of the campaign.

The 21-year-old was a top target for several Championship clubs following an impressive 2022-23 campaign in League One with Charlton Athletic, where he scored 15 league goals and won the Addicks’ Player of the Season award.

In the end though, with Palace not getting the transfer targets they desired, Rak-Sakyi stayed at Selhurst Park for the first half of the current season despite a move being agreed with Leicester City, and he played six times under Roy Hodgson in the Premier League, coming off bench in all of those matches.

Disaster struck however for Rak-Sakyi in training in the early stages of November as a hamstring injury has ruled him out of action ever since, leaving Palace and Hodgson with one less option out wide.

With Rak-Sakyi now closing in on a return to action, with a February date pencilled in, he could now head out on loan for game-time at a Championship club, and promotion-chasing sides are looking for an extra edge in the attacking areas of the pitch.

As for Sam Tickle, it has been claimed from Nixon that Blues have him on their shortlist with John Ruddy now approaching the final stages of his career. Preston North End are also interested after scouted him in the past, but Ryan Lowe and his recruitment team have renewed their interest in the youngster, who was released by Wigan in 2018 before re-joining a year later after a stint in non-league with Pilkington.

Tickle has also been linked with Everton in recent times, with a report from Nixon in early November claiming that the Toffees had been watching the goalkeeper in action for Wigan with a view to potentially making a move.

Finally, transfer target Paik Seung-ho has been spotted at St Andrews during the women’s game against London City Derry. This comes after news that a deal has been agreed for the South-Korean international who will sign on a free transfer.

More on that development once we get it…
